How to Use Your Transtek Scale – Quick Start Guide

In this article

We are making your life easier, and your scale is already linked to your account before it’s shipped! Yay! Once the tracking information is available, you’ll receive an email with the shipping details, so keep an eye on your inbox!

Here are some important things you need to be aware of in case you just received your scale:

  1. No App Needed

This scale uses cellular connectivity. As long as it's part of your Ciba Health program and activated by the team, you don’t need to pair it with your phone or app.

If you don’t see the device as connected in the Devices tab within a week after your enrollment, contact careteam@cibahealth.com.

  1. Aimed to track 1 person's weight

Scale does not track multiple user weights and does not filter the weights based on weights either. Since it is attached to your Ciba account, please make sure you are the only one using it to avoid data confusion and wrong analytics on the Ciba Health side.

  1. Battery Info

The scale comes with 2 pairs of batteries. You need to put the batteries in yourself. If the screen doesn’t turn on or flashes low battery icons, replace it with (4 × 1.5V AA) batteries. Make sure all battery digits are showing on the screen.

  1. Set up on a Hard, Flat Surface

Avoid carpets or uneven floors — these can affect accuracy. Set up your scale on a tile, wood, or laminate floor.

  1. No Buttons Needed

The scale powers on automatically when you step on it, and turns off on its own after use. Make sure to install the batteries that come with the scale

  1. Step On to Weigh In

All you need to do is simply step onto the scale barefoot. Keep both feet flat and still on the scale. Your weight gets locked only after the LCD blinks twice. And then the scale automatically connects via cellular service. If the scale fails to automatically connect, the cellular icon with “x” will be displayed.

  1. Data Transmission

The scale has a built-in cellular connection — no Wi-Fi or Bluetooth setup needed. Your results are automatically sent to Ciba Health. After connecting to the internet, the weight data will be transmitted. When data is successfully transmitted, "OK" and the transfer sign will be displayed. See example below.

Consistency is Key
For best results, weigh yourself at the same time each day (e.g., morning before eating or drinking).

Here are some display symbols you need to be aware of in case they show:

After you have weighed yourself successfully, and in case no connection issues existed, you can go to your CIba Dashboard and check your weight reading.

Please note that sometimes it may take several minutes for the data to transmit to your account, depending on cellular connectivity levels. If you do not see your weight even after refreshing your app or web browser, please use the live support chat in the lower right corner of your profile to inform us or email support@cibahealth.com.
